The Record No. 043, 3 blade Plough Plane is fitted with
Adjustable Depth Gauge, Double Arm adjustable Bridged Fence and 1 pair
of Fence Arms and will cut 1/2" deep up to 4" from edge of boards.

Made by "RECORD TOOLS", 'C & J HAMPTON LTD' Sheffield,
from 1934 to 1978, the plane
is 5-1/2" long
and came with 3 blade sizes, 1/8th",
3/16ths" and
1/4".
Additional cutters were available for grooving for plywood panels in millimetre sizes and came in 4mm, 6mm, 9mm & 12mm widths.
Quite commonly known as a "Drawer Bottom Plane" as it was frequently
used to cut the trenches in the sides of drawers to take
either panelled or ply bottoms. It is a lot quicker to set up and use one
of these planes than to set up an electric router for one or two jobs.
