About small enough to be called a Thumb Plane.
A nice little dovetailed steel, Rosewood infilled plane.
These were used to clean up rebates
and housing joints.
This one probably designed for narrow housing joints as
it has a skewed
cutter for cross grain work. The mouth has probably been widened.
Here, you can get an idea of how narrow it is. Norris are known to have
made a plane
of these dimensions but I'd be reluctant to say that this one is by Norris.
It is however,
a very handy little tool.
