The first one is a Type 6, made between 1888-1890

It is 13" long with a 2 1/8" cutter and features Rosewood Handle and front low knob.

There are 3 patent dates on the lateral adjuster of the Type 6, they are -
2-8-76, 10-21-84 and7-24-88. The type 6 also saw the introduction of the
circular disc on the lateral adjuster.

Above and below, you see how the cutter goes through each side of the plane.

The blade extends through both sides of the plane to allow rebate work.
The arch just above the blade is their weak point, making these planes
increasingly difficult to find in good nick as many have been broken or cracked.

This one is a Type 19, Made In England, probably in the 1950s. It has stained
hardwood handle and knob. It is sitting beside a No.5 for length comparison.
