Advertised as "Unbreakable", intended for use in schools. Pressed steel construction.


The Stanley No.118 Low Angle Block Plane is 6-1/4" long and 1-5/8" wide and has a 12 degrees cutter seating.  It was for general block plane use where there was a danger of dropping the plane whilst in use. It is stamped Stanley No. 118 on the left side of the plane.


Adjustment screw, lever tightening screw and front handle, all nickel plated.


This one is from between 1960 and 1970, evident by the dark blue enamel.
1971 to 1983, they had a red/brown finish while late fifties models were finished in grey.
Early models had a seperate plate on the front with a raised embossed "Stanley 118"
and highlited in red. They were black japanned.
