This one is a Type 3 and thought to date from around 1910 - 1916
It is 6½" long with a 3" cutter and features Rosewood Handle.
From
1925, the plane's width was reduced to
accomodate a 2 7/8" cutter.
The handles are of rosewood with a double grip, and being placed
across the centre of the tool,
gives it a good balance. The brass nut in front tightens the lever cap and holds
the cutter in place.
These brass nuts are used to adjust the pitch of the scraper blade.
