The Stanley No.122 Adjustable Wood Smooth Plane is 8" long with a 1 ¾" cutter.  It sold for $1.50 in the Stanley 1877 Catalogue.  It has a beech bottom, cast top frame and lever cap. The cap is embossed "76" in commemoration of 100 years of the Declaration of America’s Independence.


Stanley Rule & Level Co. is stamped on Front of This Type 2 (1886-1891)


The ring pull and old style lever screw can be clearly seen in this pic.


This pic shows the fixed frog and unusual vertical adjuster lever. There is a ring-pull on the end of the pivoted lever to adjust the depth of cut with. The small lug in the casting of the other end of the lever, fits into a special slotted screw which is attached to the chip breaker through the blade slot.
