This one was made during the Sweetheart period, 1923-35.

It is 8 1/2" long and 1 3/4" wide. After 1935, 1 7/8" wide.
This has to be one of Stanley’s best Rabbet & Filletster planes.
It is very sturdy and has a skewed cutter for difficult timbers.
The fence and depth stop can be fitted either side of the plane making it ambidextrous.

Note that the fence is equal length each side of the arm unlike the No.78’s fence which is offset. It has a thicker arm than the other rabbet planes.
A wooden wear strip has been fitted to the fence by a previous owner.

It has spurs on both sides
for cross grain work.

This is another relatively rare plane in the UK.
