The 9¼ is a general purpose Block Plane. It is 6" long with a 1 5/8" cutter.
There are less of these around than the 9½, simply because they were less
popular
due to the lack of a mouth adjustment.
The 9 ¼ is adjustable for lateral and depth of cut control but lacks the
adjustable mouth of the 9½.
