A Type 1
The Stanley No.90 Adjustable Bull Nose Rabbet Plane is 4”
long with a 1” wide cutter. It is Nickel Plated.
The mouth is adjustable for fine or course work by loosening the top screw
and sliding the top part back or forth. The top can also be completely
removed to allow the plane to be used as a Chisel Plane.
On the Type 1, the underneath of the top is ground so that each corner
of the top part only, are in contact with the body. Also
the blade adjustment knob has large size knurling with "Stanley" embossed
around it.
Early models do not have the number 90 cast on them.
A Later Type
This is a later one, made in England.
The number 90 is cast on the top-front of the plane. Also the
cutter adjustment screw has fine knurling and the underneath of the top is
ground flat and in complete contact with the body.
