This is a Type 1, made between 1912 and 1921
The Stanley No.95 edge trimming plane
is 6" long and has a 1-1/16" wide Cutter. It's skewed angle, gives
a ¾" cut.
It's purpose in life is to true up 90 degree edges on boards. This
is a very useful tool in cabinet work and furniture making.
At the rear we can see the business edge, with the mouth & cutter being
skewed. The casting forms a perfect 90 degree angle for the combined sole
and fence. The depth of cut is adjusted by pushing or pulling the lever
showing under the palm grip.
Stanley No.95 is embossed in Olde English Script under the Palm Grip.
The Patent date 5. 14. 12 is embossed on the front.
