This is a Type 1, made between 1912 and 1921

The Stanley No.95 edge trimming plane is 6" long and has a 1-1/16" wide Cutter.  It's skewed angle, gives a ¾" cut.
It's purpose in life is to true up 90 degree edges on boards.  This is a very useful tool in cabinet work and furniture making.

At the rear we can see the business edge, with the mouth & cutter being skewed. The casting forms a perfect 90 degree angle for the combined sole and fence. The depth of cut is adjusted by pushing or pulling the lever showing under the palm grip.

Stanley No.95 is embossed in Olde English Script under the Palm Grip.

The Patent date 5. 14. 12 is embossed on the front.

Stanley Rule & Level Co., New Britain, Conn, USA Trade Mark on cutter.
